The files area can be used store files for download by staff and co-managers when they login. You might want to upload important information such as training manuals, menus, or even the embarrassing Christmas-party photos!

Like discussions, files can be targeted at specific managers and marked as Sticky. To upload a new file, click the Create new button at the top of the page. Below you will find a breakdown of all the fields within the Communication → Files area of your account.

Name*Uniform policyThe name will be used on the download list page, and in the message which goes to the audience, if you turn the 'Notify audience' setting 'on' (more on that below). Try to keep the name short and descriptive – under 10 words is ideal.
DescriptionThis PDF details the companies uniform policy on casual Fridays.A more detailed description of the file (optional). Use this area to fully explain what the file contains. There is no word limit on the description field.
File*no_more_hawaii.pdfThe file you wish to upload for download by your audience (more on that below). Click the Chose file button and locate the file you wish to upload on your computer. The maximum file size you can upload is 20MB.
File typePDFThe type of file. This will control the icon that shows next to it.
StickyYesMarking a file as ‘sticky’ ensures it will always show at the top of the file list page, regardless of its upload date (the default way with which files are sorted). Mark only the most important files as sticky.
AudienceCompany wideYour selections in the audience section define who can download the file via their staff Area; to all other staff it will be invisible. If you want all of your staff to see it, select 'Company wide'. If you don’t want any of your staff to view the discussion, select ‘Managers only’.
