Some of you might have noticed we’ve been a little harder at work than usual over the last few months. And if you’ve got a keen eye, you may have also noticed a little blue and yellow logo over the Roster Plus logo on our home page.
While making sure our customers are getting the latest features and the best support, we’ve also been working to bring our software/apps to our future friends abroad.
As a part of going international, we’ve decided to bring everyone a new brand (one that’s a little more relevant to the rest of the world). So without further ado, we’d like to welcome you to Ento!
Why the change?
When we started Roster Plus, our focus was on helping businesses solve their rostering problems. As we’ve evolved, we’ve recognised that rostering is only a small portion of the problems business owners and managers face when managing their employees.
We’ve evolved
Over the years we’ve rolled out a variety of features, growing our software from being a rostering software, to a workforce management system, including time and attendance, leave/vacation and communication just to name a few.
While there are some sentimental attachments, unfortunately the name ‘Roster Plus’ doesn’t really embody the features we currently have (or plan to include in the future), so continuing with the name doesn’t really do us justice.
The other issue is what we call “rosters”, the US call “schedules” and the UK call “rotas”. Although we intend to keep our Australian roots, we’re going to a neutral brand name that’s easy to remember and type in your browser.
Why did we choose Ento?
We chose ‘Ento’ because, well, we liked it. We could talk about the fact that it has the meaning ‘within’ or ‘inside’, which draws parallels to working inside your businesses… but the truth is we wanted a 4 letter domain that was easy to say and didn’t ‘mean’ anything. Yet.
What won’t change?
For all our happy customers, we’ll still be based in Australia, we’re still the same team (except for a few new people) and most things will remain exactly the same.
We won’t be changing our pricing or service to you and your data will remain hosted on dedicated hardware within Australia.
What will change?
To help us transition as smoothly as possible, we’ll start implementing things gradually. From today onwards, we’ll be embracing the Ento brand. This means that when you email or call us, we’ll respond as Ento (instead of Roster Plus).
As time goes on, we’ll start moving our support and blogs to Ento, and finally redirecting Roster Plus to the Ento website (Don’t be scared if you need support. Our team will still be here in Australia for you).
Your app interface will remain largely the same, but we will make a few minor cosmetic changes (such as our Ento logo).
