Importing custom data
To start a new file import, go to Core HR > Account data > Import data and click Create new.
Open the Type dropdown list and select ‘Custom Data’.
The purple bar under the file selection will then update to include a ‘Click here’ link for downloading a CSV template that includes all the fields necessary to get importing.
More general information on preparing import files can be found in Importing data overview.
Custom data import requirements
Name | Data type | Length limit | Example | Mandatory | Description |
Custom data field ID | Reference | 20 | CD10001 or OBJ-e40f4c9f-7f91-404e-ad01-f6d738b3be51 | Yes |
This is either the ID of the custom data field the value is attached to, or the ID of the object prefixed with ‘OBJ-‘. This must match a predefined, non-deleted custom data field ID or Object ID. If using an object remember that the object ID needs to be prefixed with ‘OBJ-‘, a custom data field does not need to be prefixed with anything.
|
ID | Reference | 20 | ST10001 | Yes |
The ID of the staff, area, role, loading or leave type the data is attached to. Must match a predefined, non-deleted staff, role, area or loading (based on the custom data fields ‘attached to’ setting).
|
Value | String | Senior | No |
The value you wish to set. If the custom data field is the ‘option’ type, the value must equal one of the values. If the custom data field is the ‘file’ type, the value will be ignored.
